Discretion Reports
When a duty record has failures in either it's associated rules or required qualifications - the FCM system will flag the problem and allow the duty owner to create a Discretion Report that may detail why the failure occurred.
Reports can only be created for duties occurring today and in the past, and will be stored in perpetuity against the operation for auditing purposes.
If you're seeing duty failures or reports cropping up that you didn't expect, check the underlying Rulesets and Duty Templates to see what might be triggering them.
Handling Discretion Reports
Discretion Reports are primarily handled through the Dashboard itself by selecting Review.
This opens a modal that allows you to read the details of the duty that has been flagged, along with the report title and summary that the duty owner has written (or another OPS user has written on their behalf).
The dialog will present any failures within the rulesets or qualifications, which is a reflection of the messages calculated by the engine itself.
If any flights were recorded against the duty, their details will be shown here, as well as the times of the original duty template compared with the individual record's properties - if the times are noticeably different, this could be the root cause of the overfly and be referenced in the report summary.
As the OPS user, you have the option to add text to the Operator's Comments / Action Taken field before selecting Submit Comments - these will be saved against the report.
If your account has set up Discretion Report Forwarding Addresses in the notification section of your Operator Settings, you will also have the option to forward any report to these recipients when you review them.
Viewing Reports
Disc. Reports contains all historic records of created reports - including ones that haven't been reviewed yet.
You can view all details saved against each report across pages you can navigate at the bottom of the page.
Every report has two options:
- downloads a
.pdffile to your device - this will reflect the saved report at that point in time. - will remove the report entirely from your operation.
If a report is deleted in this page, it is unrecoverable.
A new report for the failed duty can be recreated through the normal means, either by the duty owner or an OPS user.
