Getting Started

note

This collection of guides are curated for users with Operations (or admin) access levels and permissions, allowing you to see the Operations Dashboard.

You should be able to tell if you have these permissions based on what dashboard you see when you first log in: make sure it says Operations in the top-left.

You can swap to the Personal Dashboard (and back) any time by clicking your name in the top right and selecting Personal Dashboard.

Read the Personal guides here.

If you've just logged into your new FlightCrewManager account, or just need a refresher of the basics - this is where to begin getting familiar with what the fundamentals of FCM are.

These guides are most helpful once you've had your first demo call with us, with a full walkthrough of the core features included in a subscription to the platform.

If you haven't booked a call with our team yet, or want more information about how FCM could be used in your organisation, you can do so here.

An Overview

There are three essential parts of how the platform is powered and interacted with by you (the user).

These elements work together to create a flexible system, and whilst most of the difficult stuff is done in the background - having an idea of how they interact can help when setting up an account or making changes.

Flexible Data Objects

When we refer to a "data object' in FCM, we mean anything you can create, edit or delete within the system.

This could be anything from an Operations Base in your Locations to an individual flight activity for one of your pilots.

These objects have many different properties that you can set, with defaults and dynamic behaviors we use for forecasting and auditing purposes across FCM.

Templates and Regulations

The reason FCM can be used effectively across the world and throughout multiple aviation sectors is our focus on customisation and user-driven configuration.

Most behaviours and restrictions can be tweaked, removed or combined by Operations users - meaning you can create complex rulesets that accurately reflect your organisation's operational requirements and set up any number of pre-defined Duty Templates and patterns to streamline your account.

Your Own Engine

FCM is a package deal - with every unique account comes a dedicated engine that powers FTL calculations, Qualification statuses and all of your customisable data and rules.

Your engine runs independently of all others, meaning you get the fastest possible results when you decide to roster three years into the future (we don't reccomend it - but with FCM, you could).

Logging In

Every user with an associated email address has the ability to log into FCM through the login portal.

Some logins may have Two-factor Authentication (2FA) enabled, meaning you will also need a unique code that is emailed to you directly as well as your email and password.

If you have forgotten your password, you can request a password change with a link that will be sent to your email inbox.

In the event you have also lost access to your email or think the wrong one is registered to you: contact a known account administrator, submit a ticket or get in touch with us using support@quantavia.net.

note

Users that previously logged in with HeliCrewManager - your user account is the same, but we have retired historic usernames.

You will be able to log in as normal using the email associated with your account instead (where you will have received HCM notifications).

For Overlords

FCM accounts are ruled by their respective Overlords - these are users with super-admin access, allowing universal control of all areas.

This includes the ability to manipulate operation-wide setup options, fundamental configurations and permissions for all other users (including admins).

info

When accounts are created for Trial periods, the first user is always an Overlord.

Make sure the user who is nominated for this role should have this level of access - and best to direct them here.

If you are an overlord looking for how to make sure your account is set up to your liking, head straight to Setup Definitions & Access.

For a more in-depth explanation of all the permission options, read more here.
